About the position
Join Brevel’s leading R&D team, focusing on microalgae upstream processes. Be responsible for designing, optimizing, and scaling up fermentation processes for the cultivation of microalgae . A strong background in fermentation, cleanroom practices, and aseptic techniques is essential.
What will you do?
- Plan and conduct experiments to develop and optimize upstream processes
- Utilize advanced techniques in fermentation to enhance growth and productivity
- Monitor and control fermentation parameters such as pH, temperature, DO, and nutrient supply to ensure optimal microalgae growth
- Scale up processes from laboratory to pilot and production scales.
- Utilize aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during the handling and processing of cultures
Requirements
- Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in upstream bioprocessing
- Strong knowledge of cell biology, microbiology, and biochemistry
- Expertise in fermentation techniques
- Proficiency in cleanroom practices and aseptic techniques
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
