About the position
Join Brevel’s leading R&D team, focusing on extraction and purification of bioactive compounds from microalgae biomass.
What will you do?
- Develop and optimize protocols for the extraction of bioactive compounds from algae biomass
- Perform extractions using solvents, liquid-liquid extraction and purification techniques, including column chromatography
- Utilize analytical methods (e.g., UV-Vis spectrophotometry) to quantify compound concentrations
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to achieve project goals
- Lead project initiatives, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met
- Work independently, demonstrating strong self-motivation and organizational skills
- Prepare technical reports and present findings
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field. PhD is a plus
- Proven experience in natural product extraction and purification
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational and documentation abilities
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and work independently
- Familiarity with chromatographic techniques (e.g., HPLC, GC) – Preferred
- Experience in scale-up processes from laboratory to pilot plant – Preferred
- Understanding of biotechnological applications in nutraceuticals – Preferred
- Good English communication skills, both written and verbal – Preferred
