About the position

A lab technician plays a crucial role in conducting laboratory tests, experiments, and analyses. You will assist the lab manager in carrying out her work. This role requires excellent project management capabilities, Attention to Details, Analytical Thinking, and Organizational Skills.

What will you do?

  • Perform Laboratory Tests: Conduct a variety of laboratory tests, experiments, and analyses using specialized equipment, instruments, and techniques. This may involve following established protocols or developing new procedures under supervision.
  • Sample Collection and Preparation: Collect, prepare, and handle samples, specimens, or substances for analysis, ensuring proper labeling, storage, and documentation. Adhere to safety protocols and maintain sample integrity throughout the process.
  • Instrument Operation and Maintenance: Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment, ensuring their proper functioning and accuracy. This may include troubleshooting issues, performing routine maintenance, and following quality control procedures.
  • Data Recording and Analysis: Record and document test results, observations, and experimental data accurately and meticulously. Analyze and interpret data, identifying trends, anomalies, or potential issues.

Requirements

  • Bachlor’s degree in life sciences
  • Strong time management and Detail-oriented
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in laboratory techniques, equipment operation, and data analysis. Familiarity with relevant software and computer applications used for data management and analysis.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in following protocols, recording data, and conducting tests to ensure reliable and precise results.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze data, identify patterns, troubleshoot issues, and draw logical conclusions. Familiarity with statistical analysis techniques is often beneficial.
  • Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with team members, report findings, and maintain clear documentation.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
